SSD 200 - Alice: During prayer I got involved in an analysis of the value of life - what is its positive value and in an analysis of sin. Was it a waste of time? I returned to events and facts from my own life concerning relationships with other people.
JESUS: If you only recreate events or if you had complaints and regrets, it would be bad. If you derive from this something that enriches you and discovers the truth about man and yourself - that is good.
Everything that was in your life was for this very purpose. If you did not understand it then, it is good if you understand it now. Your whole life is a lesson preparing you for life with Me. You have to learn from this lesson and change your life under the influence of this lesson. Change your life with yourself to cohabitation with Me. Cohabitation with Me will not be replaced by cohabitation with another person. Hence so many mistakes and disappointments. The more you expect from cohabitation with another person, the greater the disappointment and pain.
In every vocation there is a cross that you have to carry along your own way of the cross. And in truth, you have to carry yourself and get up from falls surrounded by passive observers. The true Helper is Me, not another person, although I can use another person. Simon was forced to carry My cross and it was not his merit that he did it.
Life is similar, although sometimes there will be Veronica who will wipe your face. The path to Me - and life is it - is like My Way of the Cross: in solitude, indifference of the surroundings with painful falls in the face of passive observers. In ever greater toil and exhaustion. And the greatest pain and abandonment awaits at the end. And this pain is inflicted by these people. Also those for whom you have done a lot, because now they are not with you.
Such is the image of human life. It is the image of My Way of the Cross in its multiple meanings. A trial that must be endured both physically and spiritually. Will and perseverance are decisive despite everything that is happening around you, and what is happening to your body, and how much your soul suffers.
Because only the goal counts: union with Me - Infinite Love. You were created for love and this is the main aspiration and need of your life. But woe to you if you place this aspiration and this need in another person, in things, in your own ambitions. Then the greater your success in the eyes of the world - the greater your defeat.
Think about where you are on your own way of the cross, how you behave, what your feelings look like. Compare... are we very different?
