SP 38 - Purgatory is not a place of residence, but a state of the soul.

SP 160 - Purgatory is suffering caused by the knowledge of one's state and GOD with the hope of returning to Him.

SP 281 - Life here is the first stage of purgatory.
Depending on how we pass this first stage of purgatory, the second stage will look like - the one after death, when it will no longer be possible to defend ourselves from knowing the truth about ourselves by accusing others. And where it will be necessary to complete the suffering of purification of the soul, which we did not want to accept here.

SP 417 - The transition from egoism and self-centeredness to the Love of Christ is purgatory, which lasts from the moment of coming into the world throughout life (if a person does not consciously reject GOD), also after the death of the body, in order to enter into union with the Holy Trinity called Heaven.

SDD 268 - Alice: Father, you compared life to arranging a mosaic. This concerned those who are with you. But not everyone wants to accept and arrange with You the little stones of their life that You give.
JESUS: You thought about them and their picture of life.
I give everyone a complete set of stones to arrange a mosaic. There are those who reject these gifts of Mine. Then there is an empty space in the mosaic. Life is incomplete and hence the feeling of emptiness and the pursuit of filling it. And then My adversary appears and gives his stones of a different quality, although externally decorated to please and resemble the proper ones. But under this coating they are dirty, full of rot and worms - distorted and falling apart.
Sometimes a person recognizes their quality, tries to remove them. I am happy when this happens and I help to find the proper ones and repair the picture of life. But if not - it may be that he will arrange the entire picture from stones given by Satan and with his help. Then it is very different from the one I have prepared for him.
The most beautiful stones that I give are stones of sacrifice, suffering, and effort. These have the most brilliance, which is clearly visible when the image is revealed after crossing the border of earthly life. They are heavy and therefore most often rejected. It is difficult to lift them yourself and place them in the right place. And I am so willing to help and I am always there to help; to accept them from the hands of a person and place them where they need to be.
My joy and that of My children in Heaven is great when someone gives Me a heavy, large stone and allows me to arrange it in the mosaic of their life.
Heaven is decorated with these images of yours. Our common home.
Before they are placed in their designated place, each person cleans and polishes their image, and with it enters My home, so that it will become their home from now on.

Alice: And this is purgatory, where everyone has so much and such work, what dirt does the image of their life have?
JESUS: Yes, but there they have to do it themselves. He knows what his image should look like, and people living on earth can be his helpers if they want to remember him and show him kindness. This kindness is like a tool, a cleansing agent that the soul can use.

Alice: And what if someone thinks unkindly?
JESUS: This makes cleaning more difficult, weakens the strength, spoils the tools, and the cleaning process takes longer, is more difficult.
Every pebble in the image of life must be clean before being brought to My house, where there is no dirt. Everyone who has come here knows this, and everyone wants their image to be perfectly clean and beautiful, and to please the Father.
One can never come to My house with an image made of satanic stones, because they are not suitable for cleaning.

SDD 818 - Purgatory exists to repair what has been neglected on the path of life. It is a gift of My grace and Love. It is Mercy that allows those who want it at the moment of crossing the border to return to full joy in Me.

SDD 894 - You are experiencing your purgatory, My child. Getting to know Me and getting to know yourself is a purifying and sanctifying pain.
These are the torments of purgatory: the torment of repentance and shame resulting from the recognition of your own ingratitude towards My love, with which I constantly embrace you and despite what you are.
You will know the complete truth about Me and about yourself when you stand before Me stripped of the body that obscures it.
Then you will know and see everything in full: your sinfulness and My holiness.
If your life is lived in contrition, and your heart is humble towards Me and your neighbors, knowing the Truth will not be painful, because you will go through your purgatory on earth.
However, if you are focused on yourself and want to be superior to your brothers – knowing the Truth, you will experience great shame and pain. Knowing My holiness and humility, you will know your own misery, stupidity and pride in this light. And your purgatory will only just begin, much more painful than here on earth, because you will be able to do nothing but accept suffering.
Experience your purgatory here and accept all suffering: both spiritual and physical, with joy and love for Me and the people whom I use for your purification, so that with Me alone and forever awaits you the heaven of being with GOD in the unity of souls.

WSD 908 - Alice: Longing burns like a wound. The pain of separation from JESUS ​​is a longing, a desire – one great cry and cry of the heart that dies in this separation. And it cannot die, because it must live and suffer for Him.
This is one of the sufferings of purgatory.
The second is the feeling of unworthiness, sinfulness and one's own filth. The desire for purification so great that it would be a relief to immerse oneself in fire, just to burn this filth.
The fire of longing and unworthiness – this is my purgatory.
JESUS: You are experiencing your purgatory, My child. I gave you this pain to prepare you for the meeting with Me in your soul and in your body...
